25th Annual Children's
Olympics
w As the cold and
rainy winter months begin to fade, the YWCA of Warren begins to warm
the hearts of our community by preparing for the 25th
Children’s Olympics 2008. If you close your eyes, you can hear the
children cheering and laughing, and you can see them anxiously
waiting to take their marks, get set and GO!
The 25th
Annual Children’s Olympics will begin at 9:30 a.m. on
Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Howland Middle School. Children
who have completed grades 1-6 are encouraged to compete in the track
and field events with others of the same grade level, winning
Olympic-style medals. The purpose of the event is to promote
friendly competition, physical fitness and sportsmanship in the
Olympic tradition.
The cost is $10 per
child. Each participant registered by May 9, 2008 will
receive a T-shirt. The deadline to register for the event is
