Financial Literacy
w
Common ˘ents
In our community and around the
world, men, women and families are feeling the effects of losing
jobs, low paying jobs, sending children to college, and maxed out
credit cards. This forces many families to live pay check to pay
check feeling as though they are just able to keep their head above
water.
Common ˘ents is a
financial literacy curriculum that addresses many of the financial
questions and hurdles that people face. It is a six week program
that helps people to assess their financial situation and set goals;
learn how to set, balance and maintain a budget; assess whether to
rent or buy a home and accessing assistance to do so; use of credit
cards and tax preparation assistance; and general consumer
awareness.
The cost of the program is $20.00
for the entire session or $5.00 per hour and a half class. Please
call the YWCA if you are interested in bringing this curriculum to
your school, business or organization and we will create a schedule
that best suits your needs.
