YWCA Warren was presented with a check for $11,000 from Chemical Bank for the creation of the Chemical Bank Wellness Center on Tuesday. The Wellness Center will serve participants in YWCA Warren’s programs for youth and children, staff, and residents of the WINGS, a permanent supportive housing program operated by YWCA Warren. The WINGS is home to 12 women and their children, all of whom have a history of homelessness, near-homelessness, and disability.
The Chemical Bank Wellness Center will be located in YWCA Warren’s downtown building in a room repurposed to accommodate the new use. Improvements to the room will include the addition of gym flooring, along with the purchase of brand new workout equipment that will greatly enhance the few pieces of equipment that the YW has currently.
